Stawamus Chief Provincial Park in Squamish, BC

It was a nice Saturday afternoon. The family (Hubby, little Brandon, and I) went for a little road trip. Our main trip was originally visit Brandywine Falls near Whistler, BC. Unfortunately, we did not make it due to a serious highway accident that backed up the traffic on the way there. We checked the traffic report and heard the highway was closed. As per our GPS, we were just about 5 minutes drive away. Instead of waiting for a long time (possibly few hours), we decided to turn back and check out the scenaries on the way. We stopped at Stawamus Chief Provincial Park and went for a little hike. We didn't hike all the way as the steps were a little too steep for our little one. We only stopped for a few photos of the waterfall and mountain views.

Baby Ducklings

Took a nice walk with my son to Q.E. Park to feed the ducks at the duck pond. The baby ducklings just came over to us one-by-one for the bread crumbs we brought.

Diptic "Tell The Story" Photo Contest

What is Dipic? Diptic is an app designed to quickly and easily combine multiple photos to create a new image collage. What’s unique about Diptic is that it offers over 52 frames to choose from and the user is able to tweak brightness, contrast and saturation, and adjust border color, width and curvature. Diptic is available for both iOS and Android.

They have just launched their first official contest – "Tell The Story" for the best picture that tells a story. They are looking for entries that use Diptic to tell a story. Some great ideas include a photo collage of someone’s recent travels, a collage in anticipation of someone’s travels or even a packing story! Judging will be based on creativity, aesthetics, and best interpretation of the theme "Tell the Story". To submit and be part of the contest, post it on Twitter with the hash tag #DipticTellTheStory or can email them at contest@dipticapp.com. The winner will receive an OlloClip, the fisheye, wide-angle and macro lens for the iPhone that fits in your pocket!

The deadline for the contest is June 4, 2012. More information can be found at http://diptic.tumblr.com

Hike at Cypress Falls Park

This is my second visit to Cypress Falls Park. With the better weather (sunny with clear skies) compared to the first visit to Cypress Falls, I was able to hike up further up to see THE Cypress Falls as well as take more photos.

Lower waterfall of Cypress Falls. I love the gleam of the rainbow that was created by the sun light and the mist from the waterfall.

A split log.

View of Vancouver from Cypress Mountain

View of Vancouver from Cypress Mountain.

(I'm about to give up my project 366 as I can't keep up with taking different photos daily. You might have noticed that I've posted just a few photos here and there. Rather than just taking snapshots, I will only be posting the more "interesting" photography and those from my adventures.)

It was quite a drive up the road with some slopes, but it wasn't too bad. This was viewing point of Cypress Provincial Park (which is different from Cypress Falls Park). It is also the halfway point to Cypress Bowl.
